Ken Love  was  born in Chicago and as child spent summers on an uncle's farm in Indiana. Becoming addicted to farm life and agriculture at an
early age, he received a  spanking at  age 5 when early  one Saturday morning he dug up all the grass in the back yard and planted beans. Later
in the 1960s Ken organized victory gardens in communities on Chicago's south side and won second place in the citys garden design competition.
In the early eighties Ken was sent to Kona to develop and photograph a story on Kona Coffee. At this time he met Mr Yoshitaka Takashiba who
gave him a crash course in coffee and tropical agriculture. Ken was fortunate enough to have learned from Mr. Takashiba, Mr Egami, Mr.
Schattauer and many of the pioneers in Kona agriculture.

Also in the early 80s Ken was sent to Tokyo on a photo assignment, later studying horticulture and culinary science in Japan where he continues
to maintain an office.

As a consultant to a number of Public Relations and marketing agencies, he worked on various marketing campaigns including Wendy's; Where's
the Beef?, Introduction of Discover Card, Apple Macintosh Computers, cellular telephones and for clients like Motorola, TRW, Siemens, Pioneer,
Ricoh, Brunswick  and a host of others. Ken resides in Kona with his wife Margy and have been married for 34 years and have 4 children and 5
grandchildren.
They have a shared vision for building a stronger agricultural community for all of the crops that grow in Kona and work to protect Kona's
agricultural legacy.
